East Side Story: A Tour of Oak Park Regional Housing Center's Vintage Apartments

10:00 am - 11:15 amOak Park Regional Housing Center, 1040 South Blvd.

what we've lost is nothingThe east side of Oak Park offers many lovely vintage apartment buildings, especially along Austin and Washington Boulevards, and clients of the Oak Park Regional Housing Center are often delighted to find these hidden gems for rent. Join Mike Stewart, the Housing Center's Marketing Director, for a tour of several apartment buildings that the Center's clients now call home.

This event is related to the library's One Book, One Oak Park selection, "What We've Lost Is Nothing." The book's author, Rachel Louise Snyder, is a former Oak Park resident who once worked for the Housing Center and lived in one of the apartment buildings that the Center often recommends to clients. In her debut novel set in Oak Park, a series of home invasions rocks a local neighborhood into examining hidden prejudices, the power of tolerance, and the evolving relationship between American cities and their suburbs. Learn more about all of the One Book, One Oak Park events.

Registration for this unique tour is required. Register online or call Debby Preiser at 708.697.6915. Please note the time for this event, which was slightly changed from its originally scheduled time.
